The 'Tenuifolium' fullmoon Japanese maple is a unique cultivar that, due to its distinctive foliage, is sometimes classified as a separate species. Its leaves, while resembling Acer palmatum, exhibit a more serrated edge. The foliage emerges in a greenish-yellow hue and transitions to a vibrant display of yellow and orange in the fall.
