While this may come as a surprise, I have already ordered the rose varieties for new year, six months before they are due to arrive as bareroot stock. Which is why it’s best to plan ahead if you want a particular hybrid tea, floribunda or grandiflora for your garden. With that in mind, here’s a sneak preview of the 2026 introductions, new varieties for us, as well as a few of our best sellers which you might want to consider preordering, as they tend to sell out fast.
‘Martha Stewart’
A new hybrid tea from Star Roses endowed with abundant petals (over 100 per flower) as well as an elegant citrus-honeysuckle scent. It is the perfect shade of apricot and soft pink, which I am sure would meet the approval of its namesake. Grows 3’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 5.

‘Light Years Away’
This 2026 introduction from Weeks Roses is a compact floribunda rose which smothers itself in velvety, deep magenta blooms all summer long. It also makes a great cut flower with its intense fruit and citrus fragrance. Grows 3-4’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 5.

‘Hotel California’
Since we are always looking to offer up a strong yellow rose, I have decided to add ‘Hotel California’ to next year’s lineup. This classic hybrid tea bears long-stemmed, perfectly formed blooms that are ideal for the vase and intensify in colour with our cooler coastal summers. Grows 4-6’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 7.

‘Purple Aura’
Another new introduction for 2026 from Star Roses, this stunning floribunda features showy clusters of intense magenta flowers. This Meilland-bred rose will further enhance your garden space with its spicy cinnamon and clove fragrance. Grows 3.5-4’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 6.

‘Coral Knock Out’
Busy gardeners are always looking for a low maintenance rose that blooms all summer, and here’s the newest colour variation in the Knock Out series. You can expect disease resistant brick orange blooms (that fade to coral) with a hint of bronze-red new foliage growth. Grows 4.5’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 5.

‘Sunset Celebration’
An older hybrid tea with multiple awards and stunning fully double blooms of apricot with amber, peach or pink highlights, depending on the weather. The flowers intensify in cooler temperatures and emit a pleasant but light fruit fragrance. Grows 4’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 6.

‘Living The Dream’
This exciting new grandiflora from Weeks Roses features clusters of bicolour vibrant pink blooms, accented with golden-yellow centres. The good news doesn’t stop there, as the strong citrus and fruit fragrance has been rated as 10 out of 10. Grows 4’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 5.

‘Ink Spots’
Last year’s best-selling rose was ‘Black Baccara’ and while we have reordered it for next year, we were also hoping to add something similar to our lineup. ‘Ink Spots’ is the darkest red rose (verging on black) that Weeks Roses offers, with pointed buds that open to perfectly formed fully double blooms. Grows 4-6’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 7.

‘Pop Art’
Here’s a grandiflora that almost no one noticed in our online presale, but they stopped traffic when the flowers finally opened at the nursery and sold out very quickly, shortly afterwards. Part of this is due to their unique pastel pink petals, generously streaked in soft yellow, a color combination we rarely see in the rose world. Grows 4-6’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 5.

‘Fashion Forward’
Our last sneak peak is yet another new 2026 introduction from Weeks Roses with dazzling clusters of quartered rich pink blooms with contrasting white edges. This cold hardy floribunda also features a strong fruit fragrance (10/10 rating), so apparently you can get everything you want in one rose. Grows 3-5’ tall. Hardy to USDA zone 4.

Be sure to check out our online presale for these and many more of the best roses to grow in coastal BC, all potted and cared for until you are ready to pick them up from Amsterdam Garden Centre.
